The search for the new RCAA Secretary begins
In September the RCAA announced that their long standing Secretary, Christopher Riddle, would be retiring in September 2024 after 35 years at the helm, and therefore sparking a huge recruitment campaign.
The Association has appointed Hanover Fox, experts in executive recruitment, to help appoint a successor, after the role of Secretary needs to be filled for the first time in over 30 years. Offering an 'outstanding opportunity to apply your leadership skills in a long standing...charitable organisation that promotes the benefits of agriculture...in Cornwall'
The candidate will 'lead the development of a refreshed mission and vision' for the Association and be able to deliver the 'exacting high standards' of the annual Royal Cornwall Show, which attracts around 120,000 people each year.
They are also looking for someone that 'come[s] from the agricultural/rural sector in its widest sense' and 'bring the emotional intelligence to interact with a wide range of people'.
There are certainly some 'big boots' to fill for what will surely be a very important appointment.
