Rare Breeds

It's always interesting to look inside the rare breeds tent and to talk to the people who are dedicated to helping these old strains of animals survive.

There are bound to be quite a number of sheep, cattle and ponies. And there could be goats and chickens - more details as the programme firms up.

Displays around the tent provide a lot of fascinating information and a real crowd-puller last year, which will be repeated this year, was sheep shearing.

There will be a hand-shearing demonstration on a single sheep every day and on Saturday a different shearer will show how it is done today.
