Heavies on Hay

It takes something pretty splendid to make an impression in the main ring at the Royal Cornwall Show.

And that’s what members of Cornish Horse Power will do with their presentation, called Heavies on Hay.

“Heavies” refers to heavy horses – shires, draught horses and Ardennes.

Shire horses

They will be pulling a range of farm implements including a cultivator, mower, seed drill and plough.

Throughout the presentation, a commentary will inform and entertain the crowd, explaining the history of the horses, the machines and farming in itself – when it was all horse powered.
