Real iron men compete for honours
The blacksmiths of Cornwall will be coming out in force at the Royal Cornwall Show.
Watch them compete for honours.
See them work in red hot conditions.
Learn the difference between a blacksmith and a farrier.
This will be the third year they will have been at the show and soon they hope this will be a recognised event on the national calendar.
There will be something happening all day, every day.

Marines making music
Catch the Band of HM Royal Marines on Saturday only – in the main ring and on the Kelly’s of Bodmin stand.
Although they are based at Torpoint in Cornwall, this band travels the world playing at a huge range of functions.
They also have secondary roles to play and see service in many different parts of the world.
If you like their music, they’ll have CDs on sale at the show!

Music programme shapes up
The US Navy’s Band of the Sixth Fleet will be blowing up a storm and making waves in the main ring.
Elsewhere on the showground there will be a feast of music provided by local – and not so local – bands and performers.
Halfway Harmony will sing anything from Beatles to folk and from Beach Boys to Cornish. Catch them on the Western Morning News stage on the third day of the show.
Cornwall College singers and musicians will also be on stage here, demonstrating their massive talent and enthusiasm with a great many different styles of performance.
On the Kelly’s of Bodmin stage Truro School Prep Choir will be singing for our – and their own – pleasure. You’ll also catch the US Navy band here!
At various places around the showground, including the Members’ Pavilion Concourse, you will find the impressive Cornwall Caledonian Pipes and Drums.
And on the Cornwall Festival of Dance Stage there will be a three-day programme of a huge range of mainly traditional dancing and music. On Saturday many of the dancers will be performing around the showground.
Motocross thrills.......
Motocross thrills in the main ring will be provided by Bolddog Lings, who will put on a twice-daily show of freestyle, non-stop action, full of tricks, stunts and daredevil action that defy the senses.
Based around “the largest most sophisticated landing ramp ever seen anywhere in the world”, the show features riders jumping gaps of over 75 feet and reaching heights of over 35ft.
They also separate themselves from their machines in mid-air, and at the same time provide commentary to the crowd!

Duke of Cornwall's award to be presented at the show
This award is presented to the individual, partnership or organisation that is adjudged to be providing the best opportunity for young people, within the county of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, to learn sustainable, traditional, land-based or coastal trades and skills.
Charities reaching out to people throughout Cornwall
People attending the Royal Cornwall Show in June will be introduced to the work of two different charities which will be raising funds to help in their work..
