Forestry
Forest industries are important to the economy of Cornwall and each year there is a great effort made at the show to promote and explain the many aspects of forestry.
At the centre of the exhibit is a forestry barn, built in the traditional way from Cornish timber.
It promotes locally-grown timber and shows the different varieties of wood off to their best advantage.
A new 'Forestry' sign was hand carved by Cornish sculptor Peter Martin during the 2007 show and this will be erected ready for the 2008 event
You will also be able to get close to birds of prey that need a woodland habitat for their survival.
Many businesses and organisations exhibit here and there is an active programme of interesting and entertaining events in the ring.
The biennial woodlands competition staged by the RCAA aims to promote the development of woods and forestry in the county and will be held in 2008. Winners are announced at the show. If you are interested in entering, email info@royalcornwall.co.uk or ring 01208 815562.
