- About
The livestock sections at the Royal Cornwall Show provide hot competition with some of the very best of the UK's stock on show with competitors travelling from far and wide.
These sections and classes are at the heart of the Royal Cornwall Show - one of the top ranking agricultural events in the whole of the country.
- Cattle
The cattle lines at the Royal Cornwall Show are one of the highlights for many visitors.
This is, after all, a "proper" agricultural show.
The animals themselves are hugely impressive. And to see how well they are cared for and the amount of work that goes into that care is also quite something to behold.
Many different breeds are represented, all at their best for the show.
Plus, for 2010, the cattle section will be incorporating the National South Devon Show
- Sheep
We see them everywhere, dotted around the countryside.
Come and see them in all their finery and speak to the people who farm them.
Learn about all the different breeds from Blackface to Hampshire, and find out more about the important industry they are part of.
- Pigs
The number of pigs entered have been rising steadily in recent years, as have the number of classes and breeds competing, because people love pigs.
So if large blacks, British saddlebacks and British lops catch your fancy, this will be your great opportunity to get a real close-up look.
- Goats
Goats were one of the very first animal species to be domesticated, and are always a very popular part of the show.
Most modern goat breed can be traced back to the Bezoar goat found from the mountains of Asia Minor across the Middle East to Sind.
You are unlikely to find the Bezoar at this year's Royal Cornwall Show but you'll find plenty of his cousins. People love goats and this is the place to discover why.
